Summers in Vermont

Warmer weather at The Nest means endless hiking and biking on nearby mountain trails and kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming (off canoes) with our private access to Lake Amherst. We really enjoy the quieter and less crowded Lake Amherst to canoe and kayak. There's a great rock nearby to climb and swing off of into the lake.

This August, Killington hosts the Fox U.S. Open of Mountain Biking. Spectator access is free and is sure to be an exciting event.  If mountain biking is not your thing, then perhaps Okemo's Hops on the Hills is more your speed. This is the 10th annual event and brings out 120 regional craft beers and ciders. Both resorts hosts weekend concerts throughout the summer. Lastly, right before Labor day, Killington will host the Under Armor Mountain Running Series. This is the second stop of the series around the U.S. and sure sounds like it will be a challenging one.

One of the best things about summer in Vermont are the cool evenings. Sometimes you can even build a fire!

Whatever you decide to do, consider staying at The Nest while doing it. Happy summer!
